Objective: To conduct a fraternal organization for the
mutual benefit of the members; to advance the profession
of Pharmacy, educationally, fraternally, and socially, to
instill industry, sobriety, fellowship and high ideals in its

research.
Brief History: Kappa Psi is the oldest pharmaceutical fraternity
in the country, founded in 1879 at Russell Military
Academy. The chapter at UIC was founded in 1910, and
Kappa Psi alumni were pioneers in the development of
pharmacy in Chicago.
Recent Activities and Accomplishments: Here's what happened
with Chi chapter last year...Our regular professional
projects included visiting the Pediatrics Ward at the UIC Hospital,
volunteering for Special Olympics, the Diabetes Expo, and Community Health.
We also gather with brothers of Kappa Psi from all over
the country at National and Province meetings, in addition to having an Alumni round table at the end of the school year. Outside our professional aspects,
Chi Chapter is very involved socially. We host the Annual 3-on-3
Basketball Tournament, our annual BBQ kickoff at the beginning
of the school year, and we have in January!
What Kappa Psi Can Offer You: We are a family of people
with very diverse backgrounds that support each other
in the classroom and in everyday life. Pharmacy school is
very challenging and with the support of Kappa Psi you will definitely succeed.
